Big and shiny in Stainless steel with a five inch barrel ! - Hard to explain reality to excited youth - especially when its tail is wagging so hard !!
But its long barrel and serious weight and looks made it perfect for teaching safe gun handling to new prospects on the range - they would become very careful, and conscious of every move they made when hefting it!
The full-moon clips make it quick'n'easy to load/unload - the weight forward helps reduce flip-up when being noisy - and the expected pleasant S&W trigger-feel in both single and double-action mode was there. The 10MM rounds (- Oh why didn't they call it ".40"AUTO MAGNUM"!) - are very versatile, to the degree that you can download it to make IPSC Major Power Factor, - And the full moon clips / revolver combo means that you have the flexibility to load and shoot .40"S&W if you fancy.
- Here's a thought for the experimenter - you could probably squeeze-in a triplex load of three small 60 or 70gn wadcutter pills into each 10MM case loaded for revolver use.. all you need is a custom bullet mould (or a bullet swager who'll have a go at a few thousand for you). - If you made them with a bevelled edge, like a very short truncated cone, they'd work and feed as a duplex 'auto' load too. - Any custom mould makers out there?
- Lets start a .40" Auto Magnum fan-club and 'rename' movement!
