Here in New Zealand there are thousands of deer stalkers, target shooters, CAS Westerners, trap shooters, Pest controlers, reloaders, pig hunters, air gunners, antique armers, etc - some of whom join a local club .. some don't. There are 100's of clubs, groups & individuals that REFUSE to join and pay membership of any unifying group.
A wide range of DIFFERENT shooting interests & priorities that have one thing in common
- What they have in common is that they can't agree about ANYTHING
New Zealand Shooting needs A SINGLE UNIFIED, funded, Legally Represented NEGOTIATING BODY. (something like the American NRA) .. Please disagree with me .. ..
It should not be 'LEFT' versus 'RIGHT' .. single shot versus semi-automatic - but the Weak against the POWERFUL.

Picture this .. It is about 2.00 AM in the dark night and I am stopped at a red light in London, and this E-Type Jaguar pulls-up beside me.
The lights go green and we both floor the pedal .. BUT - he lays two black streaks on the tarseal and his tail-lights recede up the road, Beautiful ..
He
thrashed me .. but I only paid 100 quid for my old heap, and I got 30 for it from the scrap dealer a year later. Cheap fun.
(His cost easily 2,000 pounds)- We both were members of the AA.

Well, there's Power and the powerless.
I know a bloke, a mate, a skilled and independent working man - who has some beautiful quality antique guns - He used to collect Machine Guns but has passed them on - because the punitive police policies have taken away all pleasure from owning guns that need a relationship with "The Authorities".
He, nor I, is no more likely to shoot anyone than we would be to beat-up someone in a drug fuelled rage .. but WE are controlled, restricted and regulated while the nutters wander on the streets where the Police Stations used to be. - It isn't about crime but it is about POWER and Control.
- Meanwhile 130x NZ sworn police officers are being investigated for fraudulently logging 31 thousand faked alcohol breath tests ..
UNITED WE STAND - DIVIDED WE FALL.
Our world is RIGHT NOW undergoing a massive tectonic economic shift - and law abiding gun owners are being sucked into a stinking political bog.
America is loosing it's DOLLAR STRENGTH and has already lost it's MILITARY dominance - unless it goes NUCLEAR, and then god will need to help us all.
U S is right now planning to TRIPLE the number of nuclear warheads on it's old missiles ..
- Europe including ENGLAND has already collapsed economically into abject economic, food & energy poverty but is declaring WAR against The Russian Federation. They ARE crazy.
New Zealand needs to re-arm our population to survive, AND we need to move as close as possible to CHINA who are the real power in the Pacific - our biggest trading partner. Start teaching standard Mandarin Chinese in school so that at least we can say ni hao

Can I bring to your attention this medical study into the wounding effects of a Gamo air rifle ..(I've just bought one)
There is no problem with qualified scientists investigating medical issues BUT when the authors refer to air rifles as FIREARMS & "WEAPONS" they reveal both their political position for social control as GUN BANNERS - and their ignorance and bias about guns and shooting.
These air rifles do seem to be useful hunting tools for small game and pest control ..
