A Chinese unmanned aircraft Jiu Tian, the worlds largest. -  In a Taiwan conflict scenario, Jiutian could be used to deploy massive swarms of loitering munitions against airbases, missile sites, and naval ports across the island. 

My guess would be that it might not be a good idea for America (or anyone else) to go to war against the worlds largest economic and industrial based nation.

November 2025: China launched its third aircraft carrier, the Fujian, in a ceremony in the southern city of Sanya.

With a displacement of over 80,000 tons, the conventionally powered Fujian 

is the largest non-nuclear warship in the world.

This ship seems to be working .. unlike those British carriers that leak, break-down, and haven't got crews or airplanes.

I'd suggest that any small Southern Pacific island nation located between Australia and The Antarctic could benefit from close and friendly relations with it's largest trading partner,  - that is technologically advanced. - who is also a Pacific Ocean Nation & neighbor.

For example - might a Chinese friend be willing to help upgrade New Zealand's land transport system by building a high speed electric rail system the length of the two islands, that included both a BRIDGE and a TUNNEL linking the North Island to the South Island?

BOTTOMS UP .. CHIAPPA REVOLVER - Now in 10MM:

Where do I start? - Either I'm really old and dropped-off to sleep .. Or the CHIAPPA website is a heap of Italian doggiedoos. - It was S L O W to load and useless as far as being helpful. Maybe I'm a grumpy old fart and it just was a slow internet day in my rural New Zealand location. - I nearly gave-up.

Luckily they make some innovative & interesting guns in Brescia Italy.

Now THAT is an Interesting 6x shot  10 MM..

Chiappa make their RHINO revolvers in .357 Magnum, 9 MM, and now in 10 MM Auto.

They are not cheap to buy, but are High Quality and come with a range of finishes.

- Perhaps an independent enthusiast started converting their 357s into 10 MM and proved there was a demand in America eh ..

I'd buy one for sure .. but my guess is that they will have sent me up the chimney before one of these cleared NZ Border Protection/Police and it would have converted more than NZ$5,000 from my mattress into Italian Euros.

Naturally I might be wrong. - The RHINO revolvers have SIX CHAMBERS with the barrel firing from the BOTTOM CHAMBER .. so they align the recoil impulses much better with your wrists and forearms - thereby reducing felt recoil.

CHIAPPA have been around now for 67 years so they likely know how to make good guns.

Why other makers such as S&W, Ruger, Colts can't get off their asses and offer a version of a revolver firing from the bottom bunk is almost inexplicable - except I understand that none of them are interested in shooters beyond taking their dollars as profit for their shareholders.

Maybe Glock Ges. might be tempted to develop a polymer framed - striker fired revolver - firing from the bottom chamber in 327 Fed Mag (8 mm Glock) with an eight shot cylinder that swivels to either side in a horizontal plane .. EVERYONE would have to get one.

Stuff Gets Old:

Like fine wine, I too would like to age well.

I had a go at cleaning this piece, first with alcohol, then Wintergreen Oil. - I had bought it earlier, but neglected it, unsure how best to improve it's cracked and chipped wood - but decided to try anyway .. My oily cotton balls turned black with the filth of ages lifted from the patterned 'Damascus Steel' barrel.

I am in awe at the quality of the work that was cherished into this life saving tool

 Yes, it is Belgian - Liege Marked, number 249. Can you smell that spicy Oil of Wintergreen? 

My phone imaging is poor but I am trying..

These small pocket pistols were cheaply built for the trade - and have been called "GET-OFF-ME GUNS" and "PROSTITUTES PISTOLS" as well as the comedic "MUFF PISTOLS".

This turn-off barrel Pocket Pistol is old and battered, true, - but look at the quality - the 'German Silver' hinged 'shell' capbox in the grip, - the engraving on the folding-trigger, - the skill of the ironworkers who twisted and hammered the near molten alloy metals into patterns & spirals to form those artful barrels.

Gun-Snobs might think "but this is not a London gun" - not even Birmingham made .. but "Continental"

- It ain't no Colt either .."

It's a bulk produced boxlock percussion pistol from the mid to late 19th century.

Perhaps it filled a similar need for self-defense that the Glocks fill today. - If cleaned and cared-for they last to serve more than one lifetime for ordinary folk.

Aged but still good to carry on ..

Let's say that this two and a half inch barrel, .45ish (12mm) Liege pistol is 175 years old - it seems to remain a good tool - viable, fully operable and worth care.

The Wintergreen oil smells good too - and I do believe that it has eased the ache in my arthritic thumb ..

The wood grip looks better after cleaning-off the scratched black lacquer with 0000 steelwool - but a good wax should help ..

You won't see one in New Zealand ..

Other than in your dreams - Back in the real world this will be a BANNED IMPORT for sure .. or NZ Authorities will ban it the minute anyone shows interest in getting one. - Where else are you going to learn about this shooting stuff - since all Gun Magazine retail sales in New Zealand were stopped?

I noticed right away that KelTec have placed a 'HANDSTOP' at the muzzle end to stop morons sliding their forehand into the hot-zone when excited or "tired & emotional".. Another gun that needed this type of thing is the antique British Webley & Scott Mk III* signal pistol - that was given a massive brass flared muzzle to stop public-school twats from blasting their hand into a retirement trip to Blighty.

Don't tell anyone, but this 26inch long short shotty can be loaded with 12x  Aguila Mini-Shells and fire them all nicely - provided you pump the action effectively .. or it chambers 7x normal 3" shells in the tube magazine and 18.5inch barrel.

The US$500 KS7 is not meant for swinging at clay birds down the club - but it is versatile and can be fitted with alternative rails and sighting options - plus bigger recoil pads. - This is a light weight plastic and steel gun so it recoils heavily. IF I got my old hands on one, I'd fit a heavyweight lead extension piece plus a couple of inches of foam recoil pad.

The standard frontsight is a 'HiVis" unit and you might be wondering where the ejection port is on this Bullpup? .. that is underneath and straight down for your convenience.

There are reasons why black 'polymer' is used on so many guns offered in the last 50 years .. It is a low cost industrial production process when sold in quantity, the plastic furniture can be tough and resistant to impact damage and the high carbon black filler prevents/reduces photo-oxidation from the sun's UV-Radiation - that causes brittleness, cracking, and discoloration of oil-based plastics. The sun is not kind to our skin or plastics as they age.

Once upon a time - guns were built with hand engraved, highly polished and blued steel, with grips and stocks crafted from beautifully carved, checkered and figured, polished Walnut timbers. - History eh.

SERIOUS MISCONDUCT AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF POLICE:

 I woke up this morning pretty early - about 04.30 - NOT THAT SORT OF "WOKE" - but I lay about until close to six before brewing a pot of coffee and feeding the refugee chook that hangs-out in my garden.

My guess is that there needs to be much waking-up out there in the "western block" nations.

The peoples of Europe, United Kingdom, and USA have been fed total bollocks by their "leaders" for the last fifty years and I judge that they should be just about ready to shrug-off those elitist parasites - kicking them out of power - and then to open-up courts of enquiry, corruption charges, - and War Crimes Trials.

Revolutionary Times? - or I could be wrong and everybody is satisfied with things how they are ..

Here in New Zealand we have, in recent times, enjoyed SEVEN Police Commissioner RESIGNATIONS .. District Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Temporary Commissioners whatever . Plus one Police Association President Cahill standing-down and going on 'long service leave'. PLUS 17 Police employees being currently investigated ..

These are the people who made it impossible for law abiding NZ gun owners to enjoy their sport.

Meanwhile the country struggles-on with some 500 police short numbered, and closed Police Stations. - We should be grateful that most kiwis are sensible folk and that crime levels are low - as there is no cellroom in our neglected prison system and no capacity in our underfunded judicial court system to cope. - Our wise and responsible 'representative governments' persist in reducing taxation for corporations and property owners. We also need to thank the WORKING Police who do a fantastic job keeping most of us safe.
