Small & BIG Bangs - Expanding "Parachute" Ammo:

The 'Laws of Physics' raise their heads occasionally to confound (.. and sometimes compound) the mistaken beliefs of your friendly local expert Fudd.

- Now I was just reading an excellent story about using .22" rim-fire hand guns for self defence - right away I smiled with the anticipation of reaching the COMMENTS section at the bottom of the page .. where the content is always better than reality TV.

I just knew that the usual mob of chimp-cousins would break away from their minders and scream wide-mouthed about "stopping power".
Once again TFB  has posted a decent read with small graphics & images such as this:

CCI Stingers fired out of a 4″ Barrel Ruger Mk IV

When shooting ammo that is admittedly at the low end for velocity and mass
.. you can't have it all.

- IF you design a wee pill that WILL expand consistently in ordnance GEL .. as it opens-up it will form itself into a close copy of a drogue parachute and will slam on the brakes to stop short.

.. Meanwhile - back in the monkey-enclosure - your .50" caliber 400 grain supersonic ThunderQuake-Magnum-BigBoy may manage to loudly over-penetrate and expand it's girth somewhere near the target - provided you hold on tightly with squinted eye - while directing it's blast into a terminal impact.
not Greg ..

This argument is the gift that keeps-on-giving .. SO one more time .. may I again present police instructor Greg Ellifritz - one of America's finest - and his fact based study of actual recorded caliber performance :

So much reading - So little time ..

It's rather obvious when you think about it ... But those folk with the strongest beliefs invariably  have the most tightly closed minds. They are fully committed.

A truly good anti-gun friend who is a church elder holds unshakeable beliefs .. when I asked him how many nukes did he think might be held by our worlds military forces - he considered for a moment then replied with a sad smile .."Maybe as many as a hundred - because evil is all around us?" ...

The Chicago based Bulletin of The Atomic Scientists 2020 states that US Defence Forces alone hold   5,800 NUCLEAR WARHEADS
- Russia has roughly the same numbers .. with a planetary total of around 14,000  warheads

Interestingly 'small fry' UK with only 200 British nuclear warheads - is said to have the worlds largest stockpiles of fissionable weapons grade materials plutonium & uranium ... The '51st State' makes for a fine off-shore missile base & Materiel storage dump eh.

- It's estimated around only 100 low level nuclear detonations are needed to cause a total NUCLEAR WINTER.

The OLDEST Known Handgun is 732 y.o:

This gun is described as a bronze HAND-CANNON - it is 13.4 inches (34 cm) long and has a one inch bore (2.6cm) with a 6.9 inch long barrel.

This firearm is at least 732 years old.

The Heilongjiang hand-gun is dated to 1288 (or earlier) and - like everything else nowadays was made in China.

Gunpowder was invented - where else - in China way back in the 9th century - and before this earliest known example of a metal handgun there were various cannon, fire-lances, fire pots, grenades and gunpowder bombs.

- Weighing 7.83 pounds (3.55 kg.) the gun's 2.6 inch bulbous chamber has thick walls and a 'touch-hole for ignition. Behind the chamber there is a conical socket for a wooden stock.

.. Wouldn't it be a great experiment for someone to get a modern replica turned-up and to fire it up on range with various light charges and projectiles such as the original rocks & arrows? - They might do it properly using ballistic Gel and a chronograph while firing remotely .. but really - if using decent modern metal there would be little risk of failure.

- As expected there is an excellent Wikipedia page detailing this ancient piece:

This oldest hand cannon was discovered by Wei Guozhong (魏國忠) in July 1970 at an archaeological site in Banlachengzi village (半拉城子).

Ugly Rugers - Handsome Film-Star:

Morning Girls .. the milking shed is hosed down & ready for you .. I appreciate that you readers already know this - but maybe you will get the chance to offer this thought to someone close to you ..

Nobody cares more about your life and security than you do. Please don't rely on anybody else for security.

- I often declare proudly that I am a Ruger fan .. (their guns are strongly built & reliable)

- But I don't think much of two of their latest offerings:
This GP100 Comp in 9mm is nicely sculptured into an 8 round super-tuned competition model that might claim to be close to the ideal ... EXCEPT that they failed to reduce the frame opening to suite the 9x19mm NATO cartridge and cylinder. - Why-O-Why-O-Why ..??

- All that elaborate machining , finishing in special materials and precision tuning only to present an ugly botch-up with a huge gap spanned by a rearwards extended barrel .. bloody pathetic.
THIS Is How A Nine mm Cylinder Should Fit A Revolver Frame:
Korth Sky Marshal.

Now while I'm bravely knocking my No.1 favourite maker .. What on earth have they done here?
The Mk.IV Ruger .22" is generally beautifully made and finished - but what has happened here to this unbalanced lump of a "Pinnochio" pistol?

I won't be shame-faced disposing of my very nicely made four inch SP101 revolvers in 327 Fed Magnum & .22" rim-fire - because they handle & work so well .. and I'll display my Mk IV Hunter model with it's beautifully fluted barrel at every chance * .. but my ear protectors will have to work well to mask the noise from those two dogs barking above.
*The last time I ran a couple of mags through the wee shiny thing - it flicked a hot case over my head and down my neck/collar .. I shrugged it off only for it to drop down further and land on my back 'love handles' .. two small blister burns for one pop !
I'd Like to mark the passing of a very handsome Hollywood star KIRK DOUGLAS this month at 103 years old.

Kirk's birth name ISSUR DANIELAVITCH records his Jewish ancestry from the area of Europe now named BELARUS.
I am amazed & dismayed that the current Wikipedia page purports to detail his life story with only once mentioning his lifelong struggle as an American socialist to overcome MacCARTHYISM and the Hollywood blacklist bans. - This "Hollywood" version of history - like so much of American Life - is false and misleading.

Her Lot Want ALL Your Guns

Horse racing first ? .. gun grabber greens
SHIFTY Nats ? .. New Cons ?

Our current misguided government intends to copy the 'UK Mother Country'
by drip-feeding ever more Bans
- using underhand methods like ORDERS IN COUNCIL to bypass democracy.

The UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that 9,787 crimes were committed with firearms in UK in one year leading to March of 2019.
The number of UK GUN CRIMINAL OFFENCES has risen by
twenty-seven per cent in five years ..
- But they're BANNED ..

Unlicensed Untrained NZ Police:

I'm trying to find any reason WHY serving New Zealand Police - who are required and expected to effectively deal to violent criminals - and to protect the innocent while armed - are not required to qualify as FIT AND PROPER PERSONS to own and use firearms.

How many of these Ten Armed Police Officers possess a FIREARMS LICENCE?

- Are ANY of These Brave Officers Issued With A Restricted Weapon
 ENDORSED Firearms Licence?

I cannot think of one reason why LAW ENFORCEMENT officers should be exempted from firearms regulations or the important licence training and maintenance regulations as administered by The Commissioner Of Police . .  other than a possible lack of funding & lack of interest.

I am a 75 year old (soon 76) NZ Citizen - Fully Licensed since the 1980's and endorsed as a pistol target shooter (& Collector).

- The Commissioner's terms relating to my endorsed licence require that I attend an approved Certified pistol range A MINIMUM of 12 Times Every Year .. to maintain my ability at a safe & competent level under the supervision of qualified range officers.

.. Why are the 12,000 active police officers not required to comply with similar or greater safety & competence levels under control of instructors and range officers?

I fully understand that police recruits receive a small period of basic training to familiarise them with firearms and their use .. before 'passing-out' for duty - But why are they exempted from full firearms licensing and skills training requirements?

Surely this is GROSSLY NEGLEGENT AND INCOMPETENT - always bear in mind that our fine front-line police may need to use critically urgent skill with arms at very short notice.

Hori Gemmell Police GLOCK Thief:

This repeat offender who rammed two police cars and stole two Glock 17 pistols .. together with various other offences - is now due to be sentenced 05 March 2020.

It seems that his 'brief' had objected to an aspect of his guilty plea relative to terms of sentence - she apparently is working well for this young person ..

Trial evidence was that he kept one pistol for his own use - and sold the second for $1,500. to a friend

Our NZ Police Association President made his statement to Parliament considering multiple changes to New Zealand firearms regulations - stating that criminals obtain their illegal guns by stealing them from lawfully licensed owners. - I am currently informed that serving police personnel are NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE A FIREARMS LICENCE.

Weirdo Gat @ Shot Show:

The Altor single shot came to the 2020 SHOT SHOW in .380" or 9 mm and comprises just SIX parts.
It might be in the same class as the WWII 'Liberator' pistol and the CIA's 'Deer Gun' - but I'd describe it as a "throw-down".

It's really just a better made zip gun for jokers wearing the colors & loitering around the street corners. It looks like they come moulded in both black & white - but they might sell them in green, red, blue colours at a premium.

It loads by removing the 'twist-off' barrel and you get to fire it by flicking the spring-loaded striker to the rear and releasing it .. a zip gun eh.

U.S. Army/General Motors Liberator

CIA Deer Gun:

The Altor is offered at a MSRP of around $120 so I guess they'll sell some but there'll be competition from the better 'ghost' 3D printed models that are developing eh.

- Enterprising Altor Corp  come from Arizona .. is that good news?

- But if you are thinking about despairing of where the world is heading ... Consider some of our bent swerving "World Leaders" ..

Trump USA, - Putin Russia, - Johnson UK, - Morrison Australia, -  Netanyahu Israel, - Ardern NZ , - Kim Jong-un North Korea,Rodrigo  Duterte Philippines, - Matamela Ramaphosa South Africa ..  ..

Are these the very best on offer?

They all could fit better behind prison bars than outside parasiting decent people.

Democracy? - Where are the media watchdogs?

What a shower of shit

Government Weapons Planning - Saline Dinners to Clocks:

I am an ignorant old sod .. I KNEW that "they" pumped our bacon and ham ('pig meat baby') full of flavoured water and then charged the same money for saltwater by weight as for the meat - I knew that ..
but until I asked an English joker did their chicken have any flavor nowadays 'cos our supermarket chicken is tasteless .. I thought that this was because the birds were fast grown and given the chop at six weeks - I didn't realise that they are also pumping water into chicken, pork & beef meat - since 50 years back !! - Surely 'our' government rules ought require them to declare that they are selling salty WATER as if it was meat?

This "PLUMPING" with salt water, 'binding agents', phosphates, plus an 'anti-bacterial agent' adds 15-30%+ weight to the meat that you buy. - Bear in mind that this added saltwater broth also increases HEART DISEASE.
This 'broth' may also contain powdered pork & beef skin & other waste .. this certainly should concern Jewish & Islamic folk eh. VIDEO Link:

- Cook it well ..

I mostly just like to put things 'in perspective' eh ..

While we 246,000 kiwi 'fit & proper' firearms licence holders are being jerked about and vilified by our government - here's something else from U.S to help us keep a clear mind on things:

- On the face of it .. you'd think that a reduced power nuclear weapon would be better for us innocents than a massively larger one?
W76-2 Warhead:

U.S. introduced the small 6 kiloton W76-2 warheads in its February 2018 Nuclear Posture Review as an easier-to-use alternative option to the normal 100 kiloton version.

This reduced power missile is still 500 times more powerful than the most powerful conventional explosive in the American arsenal  .. BUT it is "small" compared to it's normal yield eh. - The idea is that the U.S. will use the 'low yield warheads' in Europe against any Russian attack without starting an all-out Russian response against the U.S Mainland.

PROBLEM: When launched on top of a standard ballistic missile from a US nuclear submarine - nobody can tell from the ground how big a bang it will make on arrival .. UNTIL AFTER IT HAS DETONATED - so the only logical Russian response is that they are under full attack and need to reply fast by pressing the big red button. - LOGICAL eh.

This is but one example of expert thinking by our world leaders entrusted with our futures - while making themselves richer and ever more powerful.

 - So what makes you think that kiwi Jacinda's ideas on local gun control are any more stupid than normal world government thinking?

.. The DOOMSDAY CLOCK has this year been moved forward to 100 seconds before midnight .. no surprise there then ..

Marty K.

Just to cheer you up some more - in INDIA they are feeding rotting waste foods to flies and then feeding the maggots to fish for you to eat .. in South Africa they are making the maggots into Ice-Cream.

Binary Triggers?

I've almost gotten used to there being THREE sexes or genders .. the 3rd sort is currently being marketed as 21st Century 'Non-Binary' ..
nice .. I think That I Get That ..

But (- not 'butt' ) now I'm starting to hear about binary triggers that look almost normal but work by firing one round when you squeeze AND then let go a further shot as the action re-sets - when the trigger is released ..

This descriptive is being used to disguise some craziness .. How long before someone ceases fire then relaxes their trigger finger for an all round surprise?

I dislike SAFETY switches at the best of times because lots of victims have been shot when the user was showing how the firearm was "on safe" .. but these binaries have a further switch position that lets a trembling finger quickly empty the magazine down the barrel.

It must take a very special person to design a "safety" mechanism that fires a shot when the shooter removes his digit from the trigger ..

.. real special

Only in America ?

'CUNNINGHAM Speed Strips' For Revolvers:

Bianchi International & others make excellent functional speed strips .. for quick(ish) reloads when revolver shooting - an alternative to bulky spring-loaded poky-twisty  'speed loaders'.
No question but that they work fine ..

- My first reservation is that if you wanted to buy some strips for use in local target competition they will cost considerably more than just your cash here in NZ .. they will also try your patience and persistence .. as you likely will be required to first apply for an IMPORT PERMIT from your friendly local police firearms office

.. which permit may well then be refused by Police HQ on the grounds that you used the wrong colour ink or that somebody else in the country has already imported some or that you haven't stated clearly & EXACTLY (range, date, time, weather-forecast, qualification certificate # of the Range Officer etc etc & which Pistol NZ  listed competition you intend to use them in) or .. any other excuse the National Firearms Office can dream-up to refuse your application ..

The "doozy" example of this was when a senior ranking officer at Police HQ F.O last year refused a Keltec PMR 30 pistol entry to New Zealand on the grounds that it was a Prohibited Weapon - claiming that the pistol was a CARBINE !

Hey-Ho .. back to speed loader strips. - Here is a clever idea that originates with revolver guru Grant Cunningham via Jim Downey  of BALLISTICS BY THE INCH - and posted on Facebook by Greg Ellifritz of ACTIVE RESPONSE TRAINING.

MAKE YOUR OWN ..: Link ..

I don't need to explain further as excellent instructions and images are linked above : - These do work.
.. Just a tiny observation .. "vinyl" used to describe flexible materials may cover various  polymer types other than polyvinyl-chloride. - I cut strips from a microwave 'splatter cover' - & I'm also trying rubber strips cut from a particularly filthy & spider infested old car inner-tube that I gleaned from a corner of my auto-mechanic's workshop 😅.

- As sure a eggs is eggs we need to practice using these - if you point your revolver's muzzle to the sky (like I did) when peeling the speed strips .. the loaded rounds will smoothly slide back out from the chambers and drop straight into your hands.

Have fun - as Life is Good .. Increasingly I anticipate that kiwis will need to "do our own thing" in the face of dumb impediment & obstruction to importing shooting related materials from the bully-boys-in-blue of both police and border protection. - Get used to using locally produced ammunition and equipment .. think about reloading and bullet casting.

Young Guy Has ONLY Ever Used SOFT-AIR Guns:

Long term friend 'J' ordered me to watch this ..

They're having such a great time ..

It's so cool - seeing these men smiling so much on range: Liku from Japan has a great story that shows how "IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD".

Thirty-two minutes of fun .. watching a young guy's dream come true. He is so fast & accurate with both pistol and rifle .. you'd swear he was an old hand.

'J' was saying that I'm always "going-on" about training, dry-firing and practice and visualisation and even 'myelination' .. and here was proof that I might (maybe) have a point 😁
- That's a link below, to my earlier scribblings on the subject:

Winners train and practice .. that will be a lot of the real stuff - match play en all.

- The top shooting competitors burn a lot of ammunition for sure ... BUT they will also dry fire plenty at home .. because you can't spend all day - every day, on the range in all seasons and weather.

.. but even when you're on the line about to shoot - visualising HOW you are going to sequence your shots & movement & reloads helps speed your shooting above a casual mindset.

You don't want to concentrate .. but rather FOCUS.

The science of it all is myelination. full stop. - Check it out on Wikipedia eh .. (if you can be fecked).

- Those old guys who used to say "Practice makes Perfect" knew something - despite being daft old farts.
 - And those stupid bloody teachers who made you (if you're old enough) learn your 'Times Tables' and even learn poetry - actually were getting inside your heads and smoothing your neural pathways - in anticipation that one day you might decide that you needed to learn how to do something essential for your future.

I wish I had listened more ... but puberty and all that seemed more urgent at the time eh

Sentence for Theft of Two Police Glocks?

Twenty-one new District Court judges have been appointed 21st January 2020 - ten of them Maori .. and others are said to be female & from "diverse backgrounds" - these new judges raise the number available for hearing trials to 172 .. What about some new prison capacity too?

On August 17, Hori Gemmell, 24, appeared in the Invercargill District Court facing two charges of reckless driving in Gore, two charges of theft, two charges of unlawful possession of a pistol, - unlawful possession of ammunition, - one charge of unlawfully taking a motor vehicle three days earlier plus a 'breach of release condition' ..

He was meant to be sentenced early January at Invercargill District Court - Have you heard anything?

.. Have police done a deal and employed this crim as a FIREARMS OFFICER because he now knows more about Glocks than they do?

Gemmell was discovered 😏 August 16 in a wardrobe under a pile of clothes at a Te Tipua house & he pleaded guilty to the charges by video link 19 November. - Reportedly he had sold one of the pistols to a friend for $1,500.
This 24 y.o. repeat offender had done a runner when spotted by police and rammed two patrol cars .. officers had abandoned the first car to give chase .. leaving it with the keys and guns in - our runner circled back and drove off with those keys that he then used to unlock the gun box and steal the two Glock G17 9mm pistols .. both of which were eventually recovered.

I feel that if police are issued with arms they should retain safe control of them at all times .. as if they were Firearms Licence holders ?
Pistols such as the Glocks can normally be safely and securely retained in holsters until required for use against a target.

19th SEPTEMBER 2020 is JACINDA DAY: .. Half-Hearted & Dis-Armed?

It's a numbers game - 246,000 NZ licensed shooters

Quote of the day: "To turn $100 into $110 is work ... To turn $100 Million into $110 Million is inevitable." Seagrams heir Edgar Bronfman.

Right now there's 7.8 Billion of us sitting around on the dry bits of our blue planet - numbers going up by 81 million each year ..
That's Me .. Waving About Half-Way.

When there was only half as many of us (3.9 Billion) .. around 1970 ish - we could all have had twice as much room eh. - Check it out - find a bit of grass in UK where you CAN'T hear the traffic noise 😏.

- So we've each got half as much land available as we'd have had 50 years ago - EXCEPT the billionaires have grabbed much more of it from us - you see .. HALF of the world is actually owned & controlled by just 1% of the wealthiest GREEDIEST thieves .. so you don't get half as much as you used to have back then - you get only half of half as much now.

Ah - something like half of these billionaires live in USA eh

So WHY would the "controllers" .. Bankers, Corporates, and their Politicians - with their personal armed guards - want to disarm the ordinary family folk who are trying to hang on to half of what they've got and to raise their kids?
.. Can you think of why they'd want us all helpless and unarmed?

- Can you think of any reason?  .. It doesn't have much to do with their party colours or which "ist" they say they are .. nationalIST, socialIST, communIST, fascIST, libertarionIST, conservativIST, capitalIST, monarchIST - because without exception they want POWER - CONTROL & WEALTH.

.. Vote-out one lot and vote-in another crowd ... expecting much to change?

We can't easily fix the world .. but we can vote-out Jacinda - New Zealand's anti-gunner.

I've been told that maybe I'm an anarchist .. because I think that we the people should tell them, - the administration - what to do .. rather than let them tell us? - sounds fair to me .. something like the SWISS have - Direct Democracy plus a Citizen's Assembly ?

Just changing the 'board of directors' and the under-management improves little while business goes-on as normal - We've got to change THE SYSTEM. - Add some controls .. not bloody "de-regulate".

.. But first we have to get shot of Jacinda's gang.

- And hang-on to your firearms eh, - you might NEED a bunny for tea.

Know Your POLICE Service:

Hon Stuart NASH is the current MINISTER OF POLICE:
.. has an anger management problem

Bush admits he was fined & disqualified from driving for six months for drink driving
when he was a detective constable in Auckland.

I was going to introduce you to the various Deputy Commissioners - Assistant Commissioners - and 'Deputy Chief Assistant Executives - plus the 'Chief of Staff' - but there are 20 of them.

- If you'd really like to see their cheery looking pictures best you go to their own page -

..  Not  that  I'm  saying  that  our  Police
 "Service" is top heavy
at all
- It is no wonder they cut funding from the important firearms licence administration, vetting and training sessions - they may need all that resource to pay the top management team eh.

I did try to find which of the x 21 was in charge of police firearms policy & implementation but that information seems restricted .. possibly such policy matters are dictated by the Police Association President?

It is IMPORTANT that you understand that
Standards of Integrity and Conduct that apply to
most of the State Services agencies ..

However  - POLICE are not included among those listed agencies as needing to comply with those National standards.

New Zealand Police have their own separate code of conduct:

Currently Police are trialling ARMED RESPONSE TEAM patrols .. these have their own information web site where they do ask for your input & thoughts - please be careful what you say:

NOTE:   Classical Western philosopher Socrates established the fact that one cannot depend upon those in "authority" to have sound knowledge and insight.

He demonstrated that persons may have power and high position and yet be deeply confused and irrational. He established the importance of asking deep questions that probe profoundly into thinking before we accept any idea as worthy of belief.

There is currently sitting a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Attack on two Christchurch Mosques on 15 March 2019 Order 2019due to report 30 April 2020. - You can read all the rules about this commission here:
