Firearms & Hearing Safety:

 I'm reading an excellent "gun book" currently, - while my power is off so that the electricians can extend & modify my circuitry .. I'll tell you about the book later.

Very early in the text the writer stresses the need for HEARING PROTECTION (what?) when shooting guns - and also mentions another danger of the hot gasses that blast from the cylinder gap when using revolvers.

Mind The Gap - & You Can't Put Your Fingers In Your Ears.

- This book is written for the American market and is coaching U S Self Defense shooters in the practical social benefits and skills of knowing what you are doing when defending from criminal violent attack. - Yes indeed - believe it or not - but our 'murican cuzzies are still lawfully entitled to defend themselves against scum attack.

The way we seem to be heading here in New Zealand .. I'd suggest that you buy this book NOW before it becomes a banned import.

- Anyway, - returning to the topic - I note that while it is easy & essential to wear hearing protection when enjoying planned shooting as on a range visit or hunting .. when someone needs their carry piece in a hurry for self defense they are unlikely to be kitted-out with full PPE.

Why don't we have SILENT AMMUNITION for handguns - when that technology has been well established for decades? - It is called CAPTIVE PISTON CARTRIDGES.

Both the Russians and U S military have used these rounds when needed - as in the Viet Nam war 'tunnel rats' for starters - and for covert purposes. These rounds might cost twice as much as ordinary noisy stuff but would certainly make shooting a handgun easier by eliminating flinching. - If you'd like to understand more about this you can click on the revolver image right of this screen page.

My guess is that a majority of shooters will have damaged hearing. Certainly military veterans will include hearing loss in their injury listing.

Captive piston technology is well suited to the longer magnum style cartridge cases and would eliminate all blast and flame together with the damaging & painful noise.

I reckon that the 327 Fed Magnum, - The 357 Magnum, & the 44 Mag. are ready and waiting for captive piston science.

I'd say that the problem is again POLITICAL.

MORE AKL Shootings - Reducing Our Violent Crime:

Blaming lawful New Zealand gun owners for the disgusting crime of an Australian white supremacist who was negligently granted a Firearms License by NZ Police is both MISINFORMATION and UNJUST VICTIMIZATION.

Permitting The Commissioner of that Police Service to handout some 3,800 Commissioners Awards to police for their performance following this terrible crime surely adds insult to injury .. Which of those police officers was held responsible for granting TARRANT his license?

Following the despicable murders in Uvalde Texas the 'Media' are currently leading the emotional voices in calling for "gun control" in America.

 - Saddened folk want the killing of children to stop .. but they seem hardly to consider the murderer was himself a troubled school student - or that there are already as many as 1,000 regulations in U S statute books that relate to firearms ownership there.

More than 20 MILLION Guns are lawfully sold each year in USA 

There are obviously very good reasons why U S citizens feel the need to buy 20-40 MILLION new firearms each year in the land where there are said already to be 430 MILLION GUNS .. the U S Population is some 335 million.

Do the GUN BANNERS actually think that more gun control rules will make 430,000,000 GUNS - and all gun violence - disappear from that land?

Police here in NZ are funding millions of dollars to fortify retail shop's property against ram raiding thieves - while the 'GUN FREE' schools in US are staffed by teachers who are forbidden from being armed to defend their own & students lives - as they might be elsewhere.

Sadly OUR Human Rights are under strong attack - lead by EMOTION rather than FACT & TRUTH - while our Police Service no longer honors TRUTH - nor does it properly direct it's resources to fighting violent crime - but is conducting a repressive attack upon the nation's leading group of the law abiding .. Kiwis With A Job To Do ..

15 March 2019 Australian white supremacist BRENTON TARRANT murdered 51 innocents and also horribly injured 40 more.

Tarrant was negligently granted a New Zealand Firearms Licence and then granted permits to buy bulk ammunition by NZ POLICE. - Required checks were NOT properly conducted.

The New Zealand Government immediately commenced ongoing 'tranches' of anti-gun legislative Acts to repress LAWFUL NZ firearms ownership - that are reckoned to-date to have cost in excess of $300 Million.

NZ Police currently state ..

“Now is the time to recognise the efforts of Police staff and others who worked tirelessly to save lives, ensure public safety and hold a terrorist to account."

- Fifty-nine Police staff will be presented with a range of Commissioner’s Awards .. and as Operation Deans involved Police staff from across the country, citations will be awarded to approximately 3,800 staff during private district-based award ceremonies over the coming months.

Defence Force personnel are to be stationed in UK to train Ukrainian forces in the effective use of the M119 Howitzer against Russian invading military.

I understand that New Zealand may have some 24 x M119 Howitzers

This type of artillery gun is designed to be deployed by towing behind 'HUMVEE'  HMMWV 4wd trucks - and NZ Defence Forces use The Steyr-Daimler-Puch PINZGAUER military utility vehicles for this and many other military roles.

NZ is recorded as having 321 x PINZGAUER Light operational Vehicles.

It's a strange old world eh ..

These freshly imposed compliance costs & limitations are specifically designed to close most of New Zealand's certified target shooting and safety training facilities - where generations of hunters and pest controllers have been schooled in the proper operation of firearms.

This new package or "tranch" of restrictions overlays and re-enforces the prohibitive new FIREARMS LICENCE application process, - and the rushed confiscation legislation that followed TARRANT'S Mosque Massacre.

IT IS WORTH REPEATING THE FACT THAT FIT & PROPER NEW ZEALAND CITIZENS MUST NOW COMPLETE MORE THAN SEVENTY PAGES FOR A LICENSE APPLICATION - PLUS SUPPLY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS - WHILE APPLICANTS FOR THE POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER - WHO DO NOT NEED ANY FIREARMS LICENCE TO BE ARMED WITH DEADLY AUTOMATIC WEAPONS - ARE REQUIRED ONLY TO FILL IN A ONE PAGE APPLICATION FORM.

I see no easy pathway for a return to sanity - as other current 'British' Commonwealth Nations .. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, - & UK itself, are also actively legislating to repress the lawful right to own firearms - in much the same way that defenseless African stock SLAVES were controlled & oppressed by the wealthy elite in the Americas and Caribbean for centuries.

WHY ARE ARMED NEW ZEALAND POLICE NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE A FIREARMS LICENCE ?

A Wonderful World (if you don't weaken):

I'm writing this on the day my old mate Mick should have been 78 .. sadly he left us a couple of weeks early. - I'm picturing him now heading out into that great big black 'A Hole' at the center of our galaxy called Sagittarius A*.

- It  might be a significant thought - that while we live out on the edge  - at the very center of the 100 Billion Stars that make-up our Milky Way Galaxy .. there is a bloody great big HOLE.

Does this reduce our issues over firearms licensing & permits in any degree? - While that small privileged elite who think they control our lives are living it up on the fat of the land in the capital city .. tens of millions of us less privileged ordinary mortals are trying to keep a roof over our heads and food in our tummies.

NEVER FORGET THAT IN AMERICA FOR SOME 250 YEARS SLAVES WERE FORBIDDEN TO RESIST OR DEFEND THEMSELVES - OR TO ATTEMPT TO ESCAPE FROM THEIR MASTERS.

I'm inclined to think of our situation as being DELUDED & DEMENTED.

Of course I could be wrong there too.

What I mean is that we are assured that we live in a DEMOCRACY where our selected representatives spend their days debating the very best ways to provide us and our children with the best quality of life that they can arrange ..

I know that it is a joke .. Because just about every issue that needs "fixing" or improving is neglected and corrupted into a political contest to keep either the RED or BLUE Team in power & luxury for another term .. while the problems just get fiddled with around the edges.

The rules of operation need changing .. not the bloody political party.

If New Zealand is short of money to fix our hospitals and schools while the big corporate billionaires use "Tax Loop-Holes' to avoid paying their share towards funding - FIX THE BLOODY LOOP-HOLES. - Just ask any accountant how.

If the elected politicians are seen to be too influenced in their thinking by "business political donations" - let's introduce an Upper House populated by citizens selected by SORTITION for only one term each to oversee these Career Politicians in their activities, - and remind them that they have a job to do for us.

Within some 6 Million years of we humans looking at the wonders of the universe - two thousand years ago a few of the devious ones decided to make a living by inventing heavenly Gods who had, of course chosen them as leaders.

Sadly - the half of us of below average IQ let them get away with it - while the ones with the smarts saw opportunities to grab a bigger share and keep it.

Coronial & Mt Ruapehu Rumblings:

 Some 37 years back in 1995-96 the massive central North Island Ruapehu Volcano became powerfully active with multiple explosions - Lahar flows & volcanic ash falls. - Currently we have raised temperatures in the crater lake with other reports of increased activity.

Wouldn't it be great if New Zealand's GUN OWNERS showed a similar rise in temperature and started to rumble long & loud against the oppressive and prohibitive ANTI GUN regulations being slid from under the slimy elitist rocks by our Government employees.

Sadly our representative organizations continue to respond with suggested amendments and abject COMPLIANCE.

It may be forgivable that the typical response to natural disaster is to attempt to tidy-up the mess - bury the dead - and undertake limited slow rebuilding with superficial remedial effort after the event.

LONG PLANNED oppression and removal of Civil Rights however demands urgent resistance of a higher level while the repression is ongoing.

How many of our Shooter's Organizations are preparing to demand proper justice from the New Zealand Legislature and Police is not obvious to me .. I do hope there may be at least one such.
