The 3 'Ps' In PROPAGANDA:

THREE 'P's in Propaganda ??  - YUP ..

Press, Politicians, & Police.

One example - NZ Police don't have to have a firearms licence .. So why do we?

.. That answer lays right in the middle of where we law-abiding trained sporting shooters are standing

- IF IT BLEEDS - IT LEADS:

.. THE PRESS, POLITICIANS, & POLICE are using the tragic murders of 51 innocent people in Christchurch to promote their SALES - POPULARITY & AMBITIONS.

No fit and proper gun owner would even think about sinking so low.

_______________

UNITED WE STAND - DIVIDED WE FALL ..

Hmm, - well we seem to be united in our outrage about the new - and the expected yet to arrive gun law changes .. but there's something like a "biblical Tower Of Babel confounding of language" in the air .. All shouting at once in different directions.

..  Political parties supposedly sympathetic to Shooters RIGHTS:

ACT Party.
Kiwi Party.
National Party?
NZ First Party?
Outdoors Party.
New Conservative Party ....

.. Divide our supporting votes between that lot .. then maybe the 40% of the quarter million licensed shooters who actually might bother to vote in the next election could be heard "loud & clear" (not).

- Of course - by the time that the next election is called - the new firearms regulations will be firmly in place and "THE BUY BACK" of freshly prohibited items will be history.

Interestingly - Wikipedia lists 117 NZ political parties that have tried to influence how the shaky isles are managed.

If you ask me .. and I know that you haven't .. The ONLY way forward out of this cursing and spinning political vertigo - is if all licensed shooters immediately
JOIN COLFO and make a serious DONATION

- If we all then 100% follow guidance and place our vote actively for only one party - we may be able to save some small honor.

There seems to be a serious economic crisis coming. The false economy based on consumption rather than production of things people need is failing and increasing the money supply has not solved the problem. No-one has an alternative.
Globalization has failed as well and people are realizing that it just takes away their jobs and gives them to foreigners who will work for inadequate wages.
Proper, secure and well paid middle class employment is a thing of the past. Wages have decreased (in real terms) since the 1970's.
The neo-liberal philosophizes of the 1980's have failed.
Socialism has failed and has taken people's liberty and independence away.
People are insecure and fearful of climate change, terrorism, unemployment, homelessness and one another.

Some people, the wealthy elites, bureaucrats and politicians, have done well and want to continue to have prestige, authority, power and special privileges. I think they see the crisis coming and want to protect themselves and systems that work for them.

The way to protect themselves is to disarm and have more control over the masses who might rebel against them when the crisis comes.

I think that they are preparing for this and these gun laws are part of that preparation.

I will join and give some money to COLFO if this will help to retain our freedom. I also think that licensed gun owners might have to consider hiding their firearms away if they wish to retain them because these new police units will be coming for them.

COLFO and other organizations could be very effective lobby groups but we do not want or need more political parties.

We need one new and independent political party to support because the minorities that control the established parties and the career politicians they select for us to vote for are not serving the common good of the people.

I wonder why there are so many smaller parties that never get anywhere? Why don't the people in these smaller parties get together and make one that addresses all the issues they are concerned about? Is there too much ego involved?

Whichever party will have a chance to break into the game should learn from Norman Kirk. People want and need 4 things:
    1. Someone to love.
    2. A decent and secure job to support them and their families.
    3. A home of their own.
    4. Hope for the future.

They also care about specific political issues but I think those 4 things are still the most important and the party that might be seen to help people achieve these things could get a great deal of support.

I have been tending to favor the Outdoors Party but am not opposed to the others you mentioned (maybe not National). I am also a member of the Labour Party and tried to encourage others to join and take it over because it probably has less than 20,000 members and not all of them agree with what its politicians are doing.

It would be so easy for gun owners to join the Labour Party en masse and make the politicians either reverse course of not get selected anymore.

Why is there so much objection to using the system to change the system?

One thing seems obvious, this is a critical time for us all and what happens in the next few years will have serious consequences for everyone in the future.

    Cheers

  2. I basically accept all that you've commented. I see most shooters in my circle as having strong 'egos' and argumentative independent natures. With luck a strong "LEADER" will emerge that F.Lic. holders will unite behind & "follow". - Otherwise currently it's very much like HERDING CATS.
