Defending NZ Shooter's Rights:

Who Is Defending NZ Shooters Rights?
15 March 2019: When the Australian racist murderer Brenton Tarrant shot and killed those innocent victims during Friday prayers in Christchurch New Zealand he was caught 'red handed'. He even videoed his awful slaughter.
FIFTYONE MURDERS AND FORTY ATTEMPTED MURDERS.
Our Politicians saw fit to blame New Zealand's fit and proper Licensed Firearms Owners for Tarrant's disgusting acts. They wanted to be seen as DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
The NZ politicians have so far introduced 3 ongoing TRANCHES of new ANTI-GUN LAWS that prohibit and punish the uppermost strata of New Zealand's law abiding citizens .. those who have clearly demonstrated that they are respectful responsible folk.
New Zealand's Police management have introduced hundreds of pages of new restrictions and REGULATIONS to apply to licensed firearms users - who are innocent of any crime.
They blamed it on the guns - and their law abiding owners.
.. this despite the published findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry blaming police for negligence when granting the killer his license and permits. - It's all on the record.
So what have New Zealand's Shooters Organizations done for their members - The people to whom we pay annual membership subscriptions to be represented?
.. NOTHING - SWEET F*CK ALL.
What has The Shooters Federation done?
What has Sporting Shooters Association New Zealand done?
What has Coalition Of Licensed Firearms Owners done?
What has The New Zealand Deerstalkers Association Inc done?
What has 'Pistol New Zealand Inc' done?
What has 'National Rifle Association of New Zealand' done?
What has New Zealand Clay Target Association done?
What has New Zealand Antique And Historic Arms Association Inc done?
.. and all the various other committees and clubs - WHAT HAVE THEY DONE with their membership's fees to defend their memberships? .. SWEET F*CK ALL.
We don't need MORE clubs, groups or organizations .. we need the existing ones to come together as one ..
Each of New Zealand's disparate shooters & gun owners organizations has done exactly what their worthy Presidents & Secretaries want to do .. nothing - they have put thousands of dollars of their members money into bank accounts for a 'rainy day' ..
What they haven't done is meet together to combine their funds and resources to TAKE UNITED ACTION to defend New Zealand's shooting sports & SHOOTERS RIGHTS.
They could take High Court Action - e.g. a WRIT OF MANDAMAS on The Commissioner of Police, - requiring him to stop punishing shooters by cancelling their F.Lic. because police failed to renew it within 30 days. - Or requiring The Commissioner to cease denying the basic human Right to own & use firearms as laid-out in the NZ Bill of Rights. - Or they might seek an Order requiring The Commissioner to stop denying the basic human rights of SELF DEFENCE to licensed firearms owners by police regulation as stated in the Firearms Code .. Or all three.
.. Instead they have done the same thing as the politicians - police - & so many other top people in this country do ..
THEY ARE TAKING THE MONEY -
AND NOT DOING THE JOB.
That smell drifting around your location isn't a dead rat under the shed .. It's the stench of corrupt lazy "leaders" sitting at the troughs - too lazy to get off their ass and do what is necessary.

The purpose of mandamus is to remedy defects of justice. It applies in the cases where there is a specific right but no specific legal remedy for enforcing that right.

Anti-Gun BULLSHIT:
Nobody knows how many guns there are in America .. so who can guess at the whole planet?
The best estimate for firearms in USA is somewhere between 200 to 390 MILLION .. but new sales last year 2020 alone were 39,695,315 - that's nearly 40 Million more in one year.
Please also note that U S figures do not include muzzle-loading non-cartridge guns as being firearms.
According to the Small Arms Survey there are more than one billion firearms in the world and the majority are owned by ordinary people. It estimates that 85% are in civilian hands, 13% are in military arsenals and 2% are owned by law enforcement agencies.
My estimate would be that of all the civilian gun shots fired in the world 98% are fired at inanimate objects such as paper targets, steel plates, empty cans & pumpkins - with millions of clay discs added plus some wild harvesting & pest control.
- Those arms issued to law enforcement will even be unlikely used to stop a criminal person's activity by killing them.
If civilian gun ownership were an issue as imagined by the GUN BANNERS the figures would show it leading the unnatural death rate instead of Poisoning, Opioid Misuse, - Traffic Deaths, - Accidental falls - and Suicide.
However NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern would do well to note that every year since the end of World War Two at least one MILLION lives have been taken by Government Military actions throughout our beautiful planet .. EVERY YEAR.
Ms Ardern will of course be well aware of the activities of our own 'Defense Forces' overseas.
It is GOVERNMENT owned small-arms and larger ordnance that are the issue that the fearful should be opposing rather than civilian owned sporting arms.
The banners may well need to fear the carrying of high capacity weapons by our poorly trained and UNLICENSED police employees.

Triggers
I've been called ( - more than once) a "know-all pom" .. certainly I am opinionated.
I've not been called a "jerk' that I remember - but that is equally applicable - for more than one reason.
I can't understand what all the fuss is about TRIGGER PULL. - I like Glock triggers and I shoot my various revolvers only double-action . . I am not saying that I'm a great shot - or that my fingers are super-strong either. - It might be that having sort-of grown up with Glocks I am unable to appreciate the truly wonderful trigger action on a $10,000 race gun - or the value of snapping a glass rod.
My Glock 44 .22" rimfire trigger press feels heavier than necessary in that area despite the gun being much lighter in weight .. but get over it eh.
In competition I used to run mid-field in IPSC matches - and my eyes, fitness and general abilities have NOT improved with age. - I did once win a club bowling pin match 'Nine for Nines'. .. but that was mostly down to my special low velocity 158 gn lead soft nose pin loads eh.
What the hell is all that overanalyzing crap about .. Pre-Travel (Take-Up > Wall > Creep) > Break > Over-Travel > Reset. ??
I hand prime all my cases using my trigger finger with a LEE tool .. I'd guess that strengthens the digit after a few thousand rounds?- Get a grip that fits and the trigger-reach that puts the "power joint" of your trigger fingers (both left & right) into position - and do the job while focused on the front sight ..
I actually DO have an opinion about "tuned lightweight triggers" .. that matches my feelings about using the 'SAFETY' switch on a gun.
- In 1991, the U S Federal Law Enforcement Training Center conducted a study that found the human hand was capable of convulsing suddenly and involuntarily with up to 25 pounds of pressure under a startle response.
If you cannot shoot your pistol equally safely and well with either hand - and with both at once - YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED OUT WITH A GUN. - I did not say "as fast".
Training and practice are both essential priorities .. Especially for law enforcement employees.
Just because you are a male and have seen the 'Did he fire six shots or did he fire only five?" movie doesn't mean that you can shoot.
Get over it and try to learn something eh ..

New Zealand Police Are Supposedly Independent Of Government:
Under 'THE POLICING ACT 2008' ..
7New Zealand Police
(1)
- There continues to be
an instrument of the Crown
known as the New Zealand Police.
(2)
The New Zealand Police is the same organisation as that—
(a)
was established as the
Police Force
under the Police Force Act 1886;
NZ Police swear their oath to the monarch of New Zealand .. (NOT to Government or Parliament:
22Police employee becomes constable by taking constable’s oath
(1)
A Police employee may become a constable only by taking the constable’s oath, in either of the following forms, before the Commissioner or a person authorised by the Commissioner to administer the constable’s oath:
“English form
“I, [name], swear that I will faithfully and diligently serve
Her (or His) Majesty
[specify the name of the reigning Sovereign], Queen (or King) of New Zealand, her (or his) heirs and successors, without favour or affection, malice or ill-will. While a constable I will, to the best of my power, keep the peace and prevent offences against the peace, and will, to the best of my skill and knowledge, perform all the duties of the office of constable according to law. So help me God.
NZ Police have their own Code of Behavior ..
The Independent Police Conduct Authority (IPCA, Māori: Mana Whanonga Pirihimana Motuhake) is an independent civilian oversight body that considers complaints against the New Zealand Police and oversees their conduct. It derives its responsibilities and powers from the Independent Police Conduct Authority Act. Under section 12.1 of the Act, the Authority's functions are to receive complaints alleging misconduct or neglect of duty by police employees; or concerning any practice, policy, or procedure of New Zealand Police and to take action as contemplated by the Act. It may also investigate any police incident involving death or serious bodily harm and make recommendations to the Commissioner of Police based on those investigations.
The IPCA has no ability to prosecute police, and can only make recommendations - which the police are not obliged to follow.
Police don't appear to have any written obligation of service to the New Zealand people that I can find.
However - despite NZ Police each swearing their loyalty to the pro-gun shooting & hunting Royals .. they are right now conjoined with the Labour Government in punitive restrictive prohibitive anti-gun legislation and regulation that contravenes the New Zealand Bill of Rights.
There are lawyers within the ranks of Fit and Proper licensed NZ firearms owners .. A United Firearms Lobby if formed would have no difficulty obtaining legal guidance.

Gun Salute Freaks-out the GUN Banners - Who've Freaked-Out Shooters:
The noise from Wellington's 41 GUN SALUTE marking New Zealand's respect following the passing of 99 y.o. His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth, Baron Greenwich, etc - will no doubt have reduced Hera Cook & her merry band of State funded academic ANTI-GUNNERS to gibbering wrecks.
Ah but sorry - I forgot she was already gibbering anyway ..
I would have expected Dr. Hera to have looked-up from her specialist study of cosmetic surgery of the female sex organ for long enough to inanely opine about guns being discharged to commemorate a dead shooter.

Anyway - if a powerful enemy is spitting in your face while strangling you to death .. do you focus on checking the spelling in a letter he sent you - or do you try doing anything you can to stop him?
I am unaware of any single New Zealand shooters organization actually taking ANY action to oppose the 1st, 2nd, or current tranche of oppressive ANTI-GUN regulation .. other than the Kiwi Party who did take their claim to the High Court where they were informed that they had a good argument BUT the Court couldn't do what they wanted.
Action is needed NOW rather than ongoing research and a 'watching brief''.
or from 1962 ..
- Is it time to despair now?

Armed & Dangerous:
In UK: Police Armed Diplomatic Protection Officer Wayne Couzens is charged with the kidnapping & murder of Sarah Everard - plus indecent exposure..
UK: Met. Police officer Benjamin Hannam was found guilty on all five charges including membership of the banned National Action group, making a false application to join the Met police force by not disclosing his membership of said group - and the possession of indecent photographs of a child.
In US: former officer Derek Chauvin is charged with the murder of George Floyd by kneeling on his neck while arresting him on suspicion of passing a forged $20 bill ..
New Zealand? - well there's plenty of recorded incidents of 'persons of interest' being eventually stopped after multiple police rounds fired .. indeed even an innocent van driver has been shot & killed.
It appears that firing dozens of rounds at fleeing suspects is "justified" under NZ Law as some variant of Self Defense? - It would be unfair for me to surmise that such shooting is the only opportunity these employees get to practice their skill with arms ..
A few day's training during induction - No Firearms Licence Required - and one annual Practice scheduled - provided it fits into the work load .. but if an officer is needed in court such range practice is deferred.
Police firearms are solely used as WEAPONS against offenders.
Licensed Firearms users are limited by police in NZ to only sporting purposes - as NZ Police regulation - NOT the law - specifically excludes self defense as a legitimate reason for Fit and Proper ownership of any firearm.
" Subjects’ arms. That the subjects which are Protestants may have arms for their defence suitable to their conditions, and as allowed by law:"
Be very clear on this:
UNLICENSED NZ POLICE are authorized to use high capacity semi-automatic (and fully automatic sub-machine guns) WEAPONS with minimal training - BUT police anti-gun Senior Management now requires sporting shooters to register their sporting arms and to complete a THIRTY PAGE APPLICATION FORM for their fixed term F.Licence - and that pistol target shooters must attend a range TWELVE TIMES EACH YEAR to maintain their license endorsement.
Post-mortem examination revealed that the bullet that killed innocent Auckland Courier driver Halatau Tau Naitoko on Friday 23rd January 2009 was fired from a police gun by "Officer 84".
A second innocent victim Richard Neville was also shot and wounded by police in this incident
Officer 84 did not face any charge.

Some Frontline Police officers have reportedly refused to go to high-risk callouts - As a result most frontline constables with at least two years service reportedly will get one extra week of training this year to help them cope with the increasing risks.
This Frontline Skills Enhancement Course will also help make use of the mothballed Police Training College in Porirua - which is not processing new recruits for the time being.

ARMED NEW ZEALAND POLICE AT AN ABSOLUTE MINIMUM SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A VALID ENDORSED FIREARMS LICENCE.
THE MODIFIED NEW ZEALAND FIREARMS ACT & IT'S MASSIVELY ENLARGED REGULATIONS NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED - CLARIFIED - RE-WRITTEN - AND REFOCUSSED SO AS TO ONCE AGAIN BE FIT FOR PURPOSE.
THE ADMINISTRATION OF NZ FIREARMS LICENSING MUST BE REMOVED FROM POLICE.

THROWING HOLES:
- Hickock 45 (70 y.o. Greg Kinman) said that "Throwing Holes - is that a thing?" .. in a review of the Glock G45 - a gun he jokes was named after him - I like Hickok 45.
The Glock 45 is a black colored civilian law-enforcement version of my hero gun - the coyote tan G19X .. well sort of as there's no lanyard loop on the G45 & it has forward slide serrations.
Mr Hickok 45 does a lot of stuff very well. He thoroughly reviews guns .. talks a lot of sense and shoots very accurately and quickly - all the while entertaining his audience with jokes and throw-away lines. He must have been a great teacher in English class .. inspirational.
BUT .. when you think about it - shooting is about exactly that - punching holes - remotely at a distance.
Truly - shooting is not about making loud scary noises with a customized 'Gucci-gun' while you waive it about every-which-way on camera and talk shit .. There are so many rubbish videos on YouTube ..
The 'crux of the matter" is achieving holes in the precise area that you need to perforate.
- A miss is a miss. - Near enough is not good enough unless you are throwing rocket-launched grenades.
We have to be totally responsible for the impact point of each & every bullet that we 'throw'.
For some decades the gun media fed us total bullshit about needing a "FORTYFIVE" or a Magnum handgun for effective self defense. Great photographic images but biased advice .. Just blasting off your big-bore downrange will not cause any target within twenty feet to disintegrate - indeed that bullet may horribly injure someone else.
- Part of the construct was that any caliber below 9mm was an anemic ineffectual 'Mouse-gun' for wooses. - Also there has been for years a trend of disrespecting "Bullseye" precision marksmanship.

Facts of Life - What works for me may not work for you. - A great firearm for me may be too big or too heavy or too big/small in the grip - What about trigger reach? .. or perhaps too much disturbing recoil, or be too 'explosive' in effect for comfort. A firearm needs to fit the shooter.
Years back - some of the lads took turns discharging rounds of shop-bought ammo through their S&W 44 Magnum .. the concussion blasted the nails out of the range roof and causing hearing loss all round .. but they called PHWORRR repeatedly to each other .. like challenging silverbacks in the jungle .. however none of them has ever repeated this "fun" in the last five years. - Well it's not really fun shooting eh.
To be effective you need to regularly train with a firearm - one that suites YOU - so that you can achieve consistent hits at varying ranges to your best ability. - One that isn't painful to shoot.
The 5x5 Shooting Drill is simple. Five rounds shot in five seconds from five yards at a five inch circle.
