UK Gun Crime Village Mournes Shot Goose - Reward Offered:

UK. The Hertfordshire village of Sandon is reported (The Independent) as being in mourning following the wicked killing of their goose mascot by an unknown drive-by killer armed with an air rifle.(Saturday 27 February).

The eleven year old goose - known locally as "Goose" - was slain in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon (21st Feb.) and concerned citizens have offered a reward of over a quarter of a million pounds for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the spineless armed killer.

Floral tributes have been left near the telephone box that the possessive and messy territorial animal frequented.

Britain where more than one billion animals are slaughtered each year for meat - has many animal lovers - but few vegans.

The BBC however reports that the dead goose has been exhumed for tests and the post-mortem examination (including a C.T.scan) has found that the bird was not shot but died from natural causes. The Royal Veterinary College is to conduct further testing.
